ABOUT SHU

Video Production became a part of my life at an early age.

At age sixteen, I was managing local R&B bands in the Kansas City area. By the age of seventeen, I co-wrote, produced, edited, and directed my first music video. By the ripe old age of eighteen, a cousin and I founded a production company from my parent’s basement, that produced music videos, weddings, birthday parties, and more.

These endeavors led to my job as a roadie where I unloaded and set up band equipment for such acts as Duran Duran, Chicago, and several others. Afterwards, I landed an internship at Starlight Theaters and United Recording Studios. Several more opportunities came along, including a master control position at Channel 62 television station during the day, and spinning the wheels of steel by night at KKFI (FM) community radio station.

After several years dedicated to my craft, I moved to Los Angeles to study film-making at Columbia College of Hollywood. After graduation, I made a career move to Atlanta where I was hired immediately as an office production assistant at a production company. Within two years, I worked my way into the camera department as a 2nd A.C. and then transitioned into 1st and 2nd A.D. roles.

Throughout my experience, I have had the opportunity to work with talented individuals and companies that have made a lasting impact and a strong focus on going above and beyond client’s needs.
